Data spring cleaning continues for GDPR and we are working on our ‘new look’ for the Summer of 2018!
So, GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) deadlines are fast approaching.
We are making steady planned progress towards working through all of our data and endeavour to be fully compliant before 25th May 2018.
If you haven’t seen our previous posts, here’s some important news for our current and future members:
At some stage over the summer of 2018 we will be launching our new look and branding style(s) for this web site. And with GDPR on the horizon, there are some very important points to cover in setting up a new operating platform.
So, with just about one month to go to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), we are writing to advise and remind all of our members, (and some of you have been with us for more years than you would like to be reminded), of the following points:
Managing data: We would like to confirm that we endeavour to manage our data securely and responsibly and do not rent, trade or sell any member’s data to sponsors, advertisers, training provider or third party. We do plan to share minimal data details with essential service providers like Mailchimp.
If you are a member of the web site pa-assist.com – rest assured, we will be completing our final review of the existing retained data of all active and any inactive member’s data by the end of April 2018.
Members, please note: shortly after 30th April 2018, to ensure that we meet the full requirements of the regulation from 25th May 2018 onwards, we will be restricting access to the current version of the Members area for all our systems work to be completed and checked; with an updated version of the member’s database scheduled to come back on-line as part of our next version and generation of the web site. This will be a completely new database build and if there is any existing or surplus data that does not meet the specific new guidelines, that data will not be transferred or included in the next system.
If you are subscribed to our newsletter, as before, please be assured that your details will be removed upon receipt of an unsubscribe request to our newsletter mail hosting provider, Mailchimp, and through the regular Mailchimp ‘unsubscribe’ processes, with additional prominent reminders to be posted in the Newsletters over the remaining editions before 25th May 2018.
If you continue to meet the criteria as an ‘active newsletter subscriber’, then following the GDPR principles of “legitimate interest’, you will not be removed from the newsletter circulation lists, and should you not wish to receive the newsletter at any stage, then please do complete the “unsubscribe” process at the bottom of each newsletter and/or any other prompts and opportunities to do so.
As you may expect, after the deadline for GDPR, the Newsletter ‘unsubscribe’ facility will continue to be available, and with Mailchimp’s processes meeting appropriate approval, in line with the new regulation requirements for GDPR.
As with general practice, this can be regularly found at the bottom of each newsletter we send you.
Should we need to contact you in addition to the Newsletters, may we offer our apologies in advance for any inconvenience this may create, as we all may be in receipt of a significant number of mail requests to return and complete as the GDPR deadline approaches, as everyone with personal data drives towards fulfilling their updated data management commitments.

Please note: We must reserve the rights to update the details of this notice, as with any new regulation(s), more information and sound opinion on good practice continues to develop and be circulated over the period in the lead up to the GDPR effective date.
